This weekend I bought new shoes.  It was long overdue, and they are very new and very comfortable.  This morning as I was putting my brand new shoes on, and was wearing a brand new shirt I bought while on vacation, I got a feeling that I thought I’d never have again.  You see, today was also my first day going back to work after a week-long vacation.  My brain totally went into ‘back to school’ mode.  It felt exactly like the morning before the first day of school.  New shoes, new clothes, everything was there.  Well, except for the fact that I never had a cup of coffee in my hand when I went to school.  And I never took a laptop with me or took my pop tarts with me instead of eating breakfast at home.  Also, driving with new shoes on is a neat experience but one that doesn’t really ring of ‘back to school’ for me either.  Also I hated going back to school, and work I don’t mind so much.  I guess what I’m realizing is that my brain totally messed up cause this is nothing like the first day of school.
