Long ago, I blogged about how I’m pretty sure I always have some song stuck in my head.  I realized this morning what a worst-case scenario of that situation is like.  You see, normally when you have a song stuck in your head you only have a small repeating portion going through your mind.  The full song that the repeating section is from is usually much longer, so you can at least convince yourself that you have the whole song in your head.  You can even stop and force your brain into a loop of some OTHER part of that song oftentimes.

Now, picture this:  the song stuck in your head is from a 30-second commercial.  There’s no way you can convince yourself you have anything other than a sub-30-second jingle in your head on repeat.  It’s pretty hellish.

The song I had in my head all morning was the Big Red commercial jingle.  You know.

So kiss a little longer

Stay close a little longer

Hold tight a little longer

Longer with Big Red

That Big Red freshness lasts right through it

Your fresh breath goes on and on

While you chew it

Say goodbye a little longer

Make it last a little longer

Give your breath long lasting freshness

With Big Red.

Now that I think about it, those lyrics could easily be tweaked to be for some sort of E.D. drug.
