I’ve started a new OSS project, it’s an XMPP client written in JavaScript that’s based on the Strophe library.

It’s called TrophyIM, and you can check out the google code page for it: http://code.google.com/p/trophyim/.

There’s a lot of work to do still, but I got to a point where it at least worked as a basic IM client, so I made a ‘pre-release’ (0.1) and am sending it out into the world.

  1. Hey everybody! Check out the new folder in our Picasa Album (link on the left) titled COOPER! =0)

  2. When I read the title, I thought you were making an IM client for your cat. I was like “Wow! That clicker training must be going better than I thought!”

So now it becomes clear what you were doing with your innerHTML thing. Is this one of those things were if I have a suggestion you just say “so change it yourself!?”

  3. Not in the least. IM me, or comment here, or add an ‘issue’ on the Google code page. Even if it’s a “well, DUH” suggestion that seems obvious that the client will need before going live, it will help to have a record of it somewhere other than inside my brain.

Of course, suggestions that include the code needed to implement them get higher priority ;)
