Bling Bling

I whipped up a quick little plugin that adds a widget to WordPress for displaying your dents from identi.ca.  This didn’t appear to be something that was already written, probably because most people just settle for the built-in RSS widget.  I did not like the rss widget’s output that much so I wrote my own customized version.

You can select whether to display just your dents or your ‘all’ stream.  The rss updates every 5 minutes, so the load on your site doesn’t transfer to identi.ca.

Installation:

Download the plugin here.

Unpack the zip file into your wp-content/plugins directory.

Enable pressident in your WordPress plugin admin page.

Use:

Go to the Design->Widgets page in your wordpress admin area.

Click on “Add” next to where you see Pressident.

Click on “Edit” to set up the title of the widget, the username who’s dents to show, and the rest of the options.

Click “Change” then “Save”.

Enjoy!

TODO:

Change how dents are displayed so that the username is a link to the dent, and @name and #TAG occurences are links to the appropriate things.
